Getting Started With Your Cases Over Coffee (CoC) Journey

Let us quickly take a minute to explain what Cases Over Coffee (CoC) does.  CoC is a peer-to-peer career growth and networking platform.

Our target audiences are students and young professionals, who want to build the right skills and competencies to thrive in the evolving job market.

CoC is run by professionals from BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Dalberg and Google.

HOW EXACTLY DO WE HELP YOU?

BUSINESS CASE SOLVING

Every week as a Network member, you will be given access to a new business case to solve. You will solve this case with your assigned case partner. At the end of the week, you will get the model audio solution to the same case prepared by a BCG/Bain/McKinsey Consultant.

NETWORKING AND PEER LEARNING

Every two weeks, you will be paired with a new case partner. So in a year, you will build 26 meaningful new connections.

INDUSTRY INSIGHTS/MASTERCLASSES/BOOTCAMPS

We will have Industry experts from elite firms such as Google, BCG, Bain, Hedge Funds, Private Equity firms and the likes to do at least one bi-weekly session for all network members. These sessions would cover topics like career planning, resume writing, networking and case studies from different industries.

WHAT ARE CASES?

Simply put “cases” are business problems that different organisations face in the real world.

More than just being problems, they are issues on which the company needs a recommendation/solution on.

Examples of problem focused cases: decrease in revenues, dip in profits, Market entry, Mergers & Acquisitions

Getting Started - Cases

WHAT ARE CASE INTERVIEWS ?

Like Sherlock Holmes, Management Consulting firms solve “cases”. Instead of solving murder mysteries, however, Management Consulting firms solve business problems (“cases”).

Case Interviews are business simulations. A typical case interview lasts anywhere from around 30-60 mins.  Cases can be real life business problems that the consultants are solving or may be completely hypothetical.

Skills that are evaluated in a case interview:

  1. Communication Skills
  2. Problem Solving Abilities
  3. Structured Thinking Approach
